The dealer who introduced me to this mentioned the brass/yellow coloured alloy is ‘layed’ on top of the copper-rich alloy. Like the way gold leaf is layed. Some metallurgy books talk about use of adhesives. But no idea as to how it was done. The quality seem to vary.
